What is this book about?

God’s Squad: The First 50 Years is a book about the history of God’s Squad Christian Motorcycle Club, the oldest Christian back patch motorcycle club in the world. From 1971 to the present day, the history is told through stories, interviews, images and prayers of blessing from chapters, members and former members from all over the world, each giving insight into the impacts of God’s Squad CMC’s ministry and of God’s faithfulness to individuals and the Club itself over five decades.

Who is involved in the book project?

The book includes words and images written and supplied by current and past God’s Squad members, companions and friends. The project is being led by the GS50 Project Team: Stephen Barrington, Di Duursma, Howard Ham and Michael Lelliott with editor, Rebekah Pryor.

Is this book an authorised history of God’s Squad CMC?

Yes. God’s Squad: The First 50 Years and the GS50 Project Team is supported and endorsed by the International Executive of God’s Squad CMC.

Who is this book for?

This book is for present and former God’s Squad members, associates and companions, families and friends of the Club, motorcycle clubs, community groups, churches, bikers, history lovers, people of faith, people of no faith, travellers, revolutionary types… anyone interested in always-complex, often-transformative stories about people and communities living, loving or wrestling with life on the edges.

When will the book be available?

The book God’s Squad: The First 50 Years is due for release in late August 2022.

Will there be a book launch event, and where will it be?

Yes, we are looking to launch the book officially in late August 2022, and plan on running a series of events at different locations across the world. We’ll keep you posted though updates on this website, the God’s Squad website and via our social pages.

Once I have completed my Pre-Order and/or Order, when should I expect to receive my book?

It depends. The books will be published in Melbourne, Australia and sent via Australia Post from late August 2022. Delivery times vary depending on whether your parcel is being sent to an Australian destination (domestic) or another destination (international). We will aim to estimate an expected delivery date when you place your Pre-Order and/or Order but will be guided by Australia Post, whose website provides updates (including of disruptions) to service times: https://auspost.com.au/service-updates
